You're not seeing things — that Pekingese indeed only has one eye.
As of writing this (November 2025), this is the only photograph I've ever had accepted into the Minnesota State Fair's fine art exhibition.
PS: The image isn't accidentally printed backwards. You're seeing the back side of the towel's embroidery.
